Lobby filthy and stinky especially on a warm day. Our room's bed spread was with cigarette burnt holes. The closet has no hangers. Only two thin wash clothes and two thin bath towels. No shampoo nor condition. Bed not made and towels not changed the second day. Staff told us that the is no linen service if we don't call the front desk. We were not told when we checked in. Staff required us to bring the used towels to the office to exchanged for fresh towels. Staff was rude when asked to bring the towels to our room. Window blinds bent and broken, window shades have holes. Carpet dirty, furniture falling apart. No electrical outlet in bathroom, one outlet in room. No desk or chair.

The location of this hotel is very convenient to the Great Lakes Naval Academy. I went to see my husband graduate and was able to bring him to the hotel and back with no hurry what so ever. We enjoyed our stay and the front desk clerks were very helpful with our trips to both Chicago and Milwaukee. They had a great breakfast every morning with the best coffee and waffles. Use of a computer in the lobby was very useful. We didnt have time to use the indoor pool but eyed it longingly! :) They have a cart that we were able to use for our luggage and our room was very close to the elevator. The room was well stocked with towels, pillows and coffee. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't a fridge and microwave in the room. But our overall stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely would recommend this hotel for an extended stay.

Clean Rooms and nice customer service was provided when we checked in. What amazed me was the outside looked decent but when you go to the backside of the motel it looks quite and peaceful due to all the trees surrounding the motel. Cannot find anything comparable for the price we spend for a motel 4 miles from st.Louis Downtown.

Took a trip to the Mounds for a sightseeing excursion. Stopped by the Royall Relax Inn. Cute little gal at the front desk. Nice room. You get what you pay for. I'd say it's improved since it's new ownership. Looks like they are working on remodeling as well. The area is greatly improving from it's predecessor days. I'd say this is a great place to stay, especially for those who are vacationing to the Cahokia Mounds. Plenty of great little Mom and Pop Mexican restaurants within minutes of the hotel.. Overall, I enjoyed my relatively short stay.

I found the reception staff polite and welcoming, and had a good chat with the manager who is quite passionate about building up his business and wants to improve the place, which is being done gradually. It was a great location for the Cahokia Mounds, just turn right out of the motel and head a couple of miles up the road.

We came in for a Cardinals game and stayed two days. It was nice that it was close to St. Louis and wasnt far from a Wal-Mart. The room was in pretty good shape. They have very nice hot water.
