PATIENT FEEDBACK FOR DR R. COHEN-

Compassion and Knowledge are the 2 words that best describe this physician.
He has also been practicing medicine longer than over half of those reading this review have probably even been alive. That alone says alot, IMO.

I am a 5 yr patient of Dr Cohen with a condition I had seen over 43 Drs for and over 43 Drs could not help me until him.

Within an hour followed by an exam, Dr Cohen was able to diagnose me with what an entire surgical team of specialists put me through weeks & weeks of painful hospital inpatient diagnostic surgeries & procedures, biopsies etc, to find out. The best of the best were stupified over what Dr Cohen could figure out in under 5 minutes. His humor and bedside manner is as appreciated as his compassion and ability to treat what most urologists find to be "too challenging."

This New York-originating Urologist, has a prestigious educative background in medicine. He's been practicing longer than any Doctor I've ever known - yet continues to educate himself - on research (study progressions/seminars/you name it) that could benefit his patients. He is one of Florida's only IC/PFD painful bladder dysfunctional specialists ] (Also well known for, but not limited to, prostate cancer success in remission) He is a pioneer in the field with the most clinical (both intrinsically & subjectively) experience. Unlike many younger, newer urologists & urogyno's, Dr Cohen isn't the least bit interested in using his patients as guinea pigs. He requires an immense amount of data and feedback just to be open towards new available treatments in which his skepticism remains in all duration. He is one of the most patient-protective Doctors I've ever had. He has patients who drive from Orlando just to see him (despite the nearly 386 urologists demographically in between).
He attends support group meetings just to learn more about the day to day struggles of his patients to learn the dynamics and case by case symptoms of which he wants to know what helps as much as what hurts each individual patient. He knows the devastation medicinal ignorance causes, more than most.

The amount of patient remissions under his care -for what has no cure- is countless in multitude. The personal references & referrals I've heard spoken of re: how beloved this Dr is encompasses nearly the entirety of his IC patients. I cannot speak for the many other conditions I know he most often successfully treats, I can only speak of that in which I know firsthand.

The essential aspect is that his patients are long-term if not healthy again. You dont ever want to see anyone else. In my opinion a Dr with that many loyal patients is the kind of Dr we all wish wasn't as rare as he is & many of us fear his inevitable retirement which he has postponed for many years out of the compassion for his patients and the knowledge of what could happen to those who could fall under the care of Uro-Doctors he has obvious skepticism & prejudice towards the methods of (in patients with rare, often misunderstood & mistreated conditions alike, but not limited to, (Interstitial) Cystitis.

In saying so, we all hope he is the predecessor of a replacement that has earned his approval. Because Ronald Cohen is who you see when you need to feel safe and in good hands with Doctor who has an exceedingly sharp mind to match! You will also like his staff. (You do not see a PA.. you see your actual Doctor every appointment.. which is more and more rare these days.
