SIU Physicians and Surgeons is the medical practice group of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, which was established in 1970 and is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Its physicians serve through various departments, including neurology, surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. The group s physicians specialize in cardiology, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, and orthopaedics and rehabilitation. SIU Physicians and Surgeons is comprised of more than 200 full-time faculty members who offer health care and a variety of specialized services. It maintains various primary care medical clinics that are located in Carbondale, Decatur, Quincy and Springfield, Ill.
