My granddaughter took her car there for overheating. Said she needed a new radiator. They replaced the radiator, but continued to overheat and she took it back after 2 weeks. Said it was an air bubble in the system.
Yes this can happen the air bubble is in the heater full of air instead of antifreeze, but not to those that know what they are doing With some of these new cars the radiator is lower than the top of the engine so you have to burp it by loosening a hose on the engine and let it push the air out until the antifreeze starts to come out quickly push it down and tighten it .. Some have a pipe plug in the top of the thermostat for this so you don't have to do it with the hose , I go to the parts store and buy a heater hose flush kit that way you can put it where it is easy to get a hold of it and just loosen the caps until it is burped. .. By the way the engine should be running when you burp it. Before it gets hot, BE CAREFUL!! Also if the radiator has a bad seam, first thing you should check is the cap to see what rating of pressure it is rated . They said the put the old cap back on, so they never even checked it. Now they said she has blown head gasket, gee wonder how that happened. They say they aren't responsible for this. Reaaalllllyyyyyy? I have had a lot of work done there in the past, but no more. They have not done things right before. Oh she is only 19.
