There are a variety of things to do right outside your door when you come to visit. If you feel like taking a short walk, there is a historic walking tour around Coulee Dam with interpretive signs that bring to life the history of the community. Across the street is the Visitors Arrival Center for the Grand Coulee Dam. At the center you can see movies and displays on the history of the dam, take a tour of one of the largest dams in the world, & during the Summer you can enjoy the Laser Light Show in the evening. Several hiking trails, including the Candy Point Trail, are easily accessible from the Inn. From short, moderately challenging hikes to longer, aggressive trails, the Grand Coulee Dam Area has hikes to suit most everyone's interests. If you'd like to see some of the local wildlife, grab your binoculars and walk down to the Washington Flats Wildlife Refuge. Or, if you'd rather go for a bike ride, there's a 6.2 mile long downriver trail that follows the Columbia River. Interested in fishing? Lake Roosevelt and Banks Lake are a fisherman's paradise. If you would rather go boating, there are several boat ramps within a mile or so where you can launch your boat in either lake.
