General Info
Presbyterians have their roots deep in Rockdale County. Dating back to its founding in 1827, Smyrna Presbyterian Church is part of Presbyterian Church ( U.S.A. ). Situated at the still-piney edge of metropolitan Atlanta in Conyers, Smyrna ministers from a beautifully wooded, 30 acre campus ; the church is the home of old "Camp Smyrna, " where generations of Atlanta-area Presbyterians grew in the faith. Our hundred seventy-eight annual campmeetings have called us back to our evangelical heritage and have fostered caring fellowship over the years. Family-based and friendly, we are a church blessed with a rich heritage, great promise, wonderful facilities, and a large body of energetic members who love Jesus and enjoy being involved in the life of the congregation. "Claims to fame" include that strong family base, solid Biblical preaching and teaching, children and youth ministry, and joyful, vibrant music. We pass few opportunities for fellowship over delicious food. We are increasingly mission-minded. Our membership reflects the growing population of metro Atlanta. We are one of the "Confessing Churches" and unabashedly evangelical, although we worship God in both traditional and contemporary styles. Our focus is on the Jesus revealed in Holy Scripture. Our joy is in serving, and giving glory to our Triune God.
