One of a kind! You have to try the handbreaded tenderloin with an order of homemade onion rings or fried cheese cubes. Don't forget the cherry, vanilla, chocolate coke! Tony & his staff work hard to make customers feel like family! Every kid has to have a hand dipped milkshake served by a carhop!

A local favorite of mine

Not quite the same since the family sold the business in 1989, but still pretty good even if for no reason other than nostalgia.

The best decision I ever made!

Well, I may be a bit biased. My father & uncle opened Kunkel's in 1954. They retired in 1989 and sold it to a man who kept our name on it. My favorites are the Kunkel Superburger (aka the Kunkelburger, which is a double decker with cheese on a sesame seed bun), the tenderloins, the pizza steak sandwich, & onion rings are delicious too! Also featured and loved by many were the flavored cokes & root beers. From the 60's to the early 90's,the younger set would cruise by in their muscle cars in many cases. Very hot spot to be after high school games. It's not much like that nowadays, but cruise-in events are quite frequent during the warmer months. If you love mom & pop restaurants & ever find yourself in the Fayette County area, stop in for a bite. You will be glad you did!
