Jeffrey T. Stavroff is a Columbus, Ohio-based attorney, and founder and owner of Jeffrey T. Stavroff & Co. LLC. Jeffrey appears in state and federal courts throughout the state of Ohio for individuals facing criminal charges. BIOGRAPHY: I'm an attorney with a different background than my peers. In 2016, I founded my practice, Jeffrey T. Stavroff & Co., LLC, because of my passions for the law and serving people. Every day, I have the privilege of meeting someone new and hearing about their life. I'm inspired by my clients, and hope to instill in them an inspiration or desire to get past a legal hurdle. That's the best part about being an attorney: helping people solve complex problems and guiding them to their goal. My law career started on the other side of the justice system: as a prosecutor. From 2011-2015, I was an assistant prosecuting attorney at the Columbus City Attorney’s Office. I prosecuted individuals accused of committing many different crimes, ranging from DUI to domestic violence. I developed substantial litigation experience, leading multiple jury trials, as well as appeals and countless other hearings in the Franklin County Municipal Court and Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. In early 2015, I joined a prestigious Columbus-based criminal defense firm, The Koffel Law Firm, as a criminal defense attorney. I developed a practice focusing on criminal defense in both state and federal courts. I represented clients charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses, from traffic citations to first-degree felonies. I sharpened my knowledge of DUI defense, successfully defending many individuals accused of misdemeanor and felony DUI offenses. I also began helping clients protect their professional licenses -- doctors, nurses, pharmacists, among others -- in disciplinary proceedings before state administrative boards. I got results for my clients, and developed strong relationships with them. In 2016, I founded my own practice, Jeffrey T. Stavroff & Co., LLC. I'm a native of Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from law school from the Capital University Law School with honors. At Capital, I served as the Executive Publishing Editor for the Capital University Law Review. Before law school, I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. (My principal instrument is bass guitar.) Although I devoted my time to studying bass at Berklee, I also obtained a bachelor's degree with honors in music business management. My business coursework at Berklee and internships at record labels and music publishing companies inspired me to attend law school. Outside the law, I enjoy playing and listening to music, endurance sports (distance running and cycling), and watching college football. I take great pride in my city -- Columbus -- and cherish its culture and people. My most valuable assets are my family and friends, who are a perpetual source of inspiration and motivation in my life. I offer a unique perspective on law and am proud of the reputation I have built in the central Ohio legal community.
