- Medical Weight LossCOPEDS will develop an individualized program for each child that allows for a livable change in lifestyle to improve health, treat complications (co-morbidities), reduces risks for future problems, and achieves a normal growth and development pattern. In respect to weight, for many children this means slowing the rate of weight gain; for some children, this means stopping weight gain; and for a few, this may mean weight loss.
