      The Public Works Department, a part of City of College Station, provides various sanitation, engineering, recycling and maintenance services. The department s drainage division is responsible for the care and maintenance of the drainage system through vegetation control, erosion repair and creek cleaning services. The Public Works Department s engineering division is dedicated to the administration of the capital improvement program, which includes the construction of streets and public building and utilities. The department also maintains various divisions that are responsible for street maintenance, traffic operations and environmental remediation services. Additionally, its Greenways Program is dedicated to the construction of natural trails and landscapes for aesthetic, recreational, transporation and environmental purposes.
