This hotel was by far the most disgusting place I have ever booked a room at. We drove up from Colorado to stay a night for Cheyenne Frontier Days. I booked this online and from the pics online it doesn't look like a bad place. Once we arrived we had a problem finding a parking spot. When I walked into the lobby it smelled horrible! The lobby was dark and it appeared that the owners (Arab descent) of the place had their whole family living in the lobby. This is an outside entrance hotel but the owners have blocked off all the outside stairwell entrances so you have to walk through the lobby to get to your room! This is so they can monitor your every move! I honestly felt like I was in a different country! Needless to say we ended up driving back home after the concert because we were terrified of getting bed bugs or lice. So we were out $200.00 as they would not refund our money. To me not getting bed bugs or lice was worth losing the $200.00. I will NEVER EVER step foot in this place

I stayed at the Central Plaze as "visiting grampa" when my grandson finished high school. Previously, it had been called "The Grand Hotel." But older reviews describe a real dump. In 2007, a friendly and hardworking Egyptian Couple bought it and renomated all of the rooms. Carpets, furniture, wall cloth, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, ceramic tile, granite, bedding, towlels..the works. Very nice. Great location downtown. Close to all the popular attractions including the central plaza events center, the Old Plains Hotel, an excellent Western wear store, a half-dozen restaurants, a movie theater, historic and state buildings, and the superb Cheyenne City Library. All within an easy walk. Great to get out of the car and walk!It was much better than the plain-jane-chains, but not as detail-spiffy as the leading highway yuppie motels. But it was clean and comfy and half the price. It was clean, comfortable, quiet.Quite simply--a good deal.
