The 60th Precinct, a part of the New York Police Department, intervenes in cases of theft, robbery, serious assault, sex crime, child abuse, narcotics trafficking and domestic violence in New York. It is comprised of more than 3 square miles of area that includes various multiple-dwelling homes and apartment complexes. The 60th Precinct assists residents in tenant and landlord disputes, elevator issues, heating and water concerns and lease renewals. Located in Brooklyn, N.Y., the precinct also supports issues related to education, housing and development, child welfare, senior citizens, transportation, and health and human services. In addition, the precinct governs the Brighton Beach shopping area and beaches and boardwalks.
