This dentist ended his contract with my insurance company and deliberately withheld that information from me until after I had had thousands of dollars of work done! He then sent me a letter saying he was no longer working with Humana and sent me his bill. If he had told me this before he worked on my teeth, I would have changed dentists because my insurance would have paid for almost everything with an in-network dentist, but of course that is why he withheld that info.

I'm trying to resolve this in a fair way with him, but he had asked me to sign a form allowing him to perform the treatments without telling me he had dropped my insurance, so he says I'm obligated to pay it. If this isn't a scam, what is?

Recently, they moved their office to a much larger facility where you have to go up a sketchy outdoor stairway. This was listed online as one of the main ways doctors discriminate against older and less healthy patients if they don't want to deal with them. This (the new, larger office) would also be a reason why he's so expensive and doesn't want insurance companies limiting how much he can charge. There's supposed to be another way up that comes through the back from a neighboring building, but I haven't found it.

Avoid this business.

Over the past year I have been with them, Doctor Dan and his staff have provided the best dental services I have ever had. I came to his offices by an excellent referral, after nearly 6 years of no dental visits. After a thorough initial visit, Doctor Dan put together a great treatment plan and took time to explain it in detail, explaining his priorities but leaving plenty of room for me to express my own. He then tailored the treatment plan to my needs and schedule, and did not push any unwanted or unnecessary treatments. His staff is very personable, and extremely competent, to the point where I actually look forward to visits. His equipment and techniques are fresh, reliable, and constantly being updated. He's precise with his local anesthesia, and uses a new formula that acts quickly, and drops off as you are leaving the office. Finally, his pricing structure is completely reasonable and within my working-class reach.

My wife and I, and our 4 young kids all love Alleman Family dental. We have had excellent results from cleanings to crowns. They have fixed bad work from other dentists, and eased my anxiety about sitting in The Chair. It is a fun professional environment run by caring dentists that want to do the job right.

I had a fractured front tooth for 40 years that other dentists said was fine. I told Dr Alleman that I didn't want that tooth touched as I was there about another tooth. In what was supposed to be a total mouth exam, Dr. Alleman went right for the fractured tooth and jerked it really hard forward and backward. He urgently warned me that I should pay him $4,000 to have it replaced right away. He didn't examine any other teeth or look at the actual tooth I came in for! Another dentist said the before and after x-rays show that the tooth was fine before Alleman broke it. The tooth started hurting and failed. The tooth had to be pulled and I had to spend $4,000 getting a bridge and a year later spend 10K for an implant because the weight of the bridge caused another weak tooth to fail. Daniel Alleman didn't say he was sorry. Stay away from this dangerous, arrogant, menace!
