My wife and I ate at El Saltillo on Saturday. The salsa was good but the chips had an old oil smell. Rancid! The food came out way too fast. Obviously it's sitting there waiting. Saturday night we were feeling nausea, on Sunday we were both with bloated stomaches and diarrhea. Sunday afternoon with 100+ fever and stomach pain. Still feeling horrible on Monday. Is this food poisoning? We don't know. Poison control said it probably had something to do with the food. But thank God we didn't have the full blown condition.. I'm rating 1 star because they were nice. But I'm not going back..

Typically very good food, and I eat there often, but no more...the last two times I've gone, I've been billed too much only to get dumb stares from the cashier when I asked about the amount seeming to be too high. I at least would like a decent explanation for being over charged! Was a favorite dining spot for me, but I can't afford it any longer! Good grief!

We are new to the area and were looking for a good Mex restaurant. El Saltillo has fresh chips, wonderful salsa.. not that watered down tomato sauce that some restaurants try to pass off. The fajita beef is not full of gristle, very tender. The flavor is full and not bland. The cheese they use is creamy (not sure what kind). The carnitas were also (fall apart) tender. The wait staff was friendly and eager to please. The food came quickly. The prices were lower than some other, non praise worthy, Mex restaurants we had tried. If you wanted something all you had to do was ask and we walked out with left overs for lunch the next day and a fresh , to go, soft drink. We WILL be back, probably often. We were told that the one at Cedar Lake just past Home Depot off of exit 44 was the best one... and we were definitely not disappointed.

We eat there at least once a week, sometimes more. Service and food are great. Don't miss this one when you come to the coast.

They don't seem to have anyone posted by the phone. It takes more than a few tries
