Do NOT trust these guys. They charged me a $1,900 down payment and never completed any work. I talked to Don (owner) and he assured me that he would "make things right". It was all talk, all future calls went unanswered. Working with the BBB and the Attorny General's office, I found out that they have SEVERAL complaints against them. The all say the same thing .... "they took my money and never did any work" .

Hardy Boys Construction is an A#1 construction company. I had a leak in my ceiling after Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. Don Hardy responded to my phone call immediately. Don was thorough and efficient. He didn't want to fix the damage with a quick fix; he wanted to search out the reason why the damage happened. He was professional, knowledgeable and proficient. He talked to the insurance company and handled the paperwork quickly. Hardy Boys Construction is an honest and skilled construction company and is an asset to our community. Fran - Wilmington, DE

Don and his team did a great job installing new doors, a light and creating a new closet for us. He was very personable and quick to respond to questions and concerns from start to finish. We especially liked how up front he was with every aspect of the job. From gathering the information to give us exactly what we wanted, to laying out the pricing and walking through at the end to show us exactly what was done and how. He was also more than willing to help guide us along in some of the projects we planned to take on ourselves. Overall, a great experience and a job well done. We will certainly be calling on the Hardy Boys for future projects.

It is with pride that I provide this recommendation for Hardy Boys Construction. Mr. Donald Hardys company presents their abilities within the construction industry in a safe, responsible and professional manner. As a homeowner, I have had the pleasure to experience Mr. Hardys work directly on various improvement projects. I have received so many compliments on the work that Hardy Boys Construction has done to my home....Donnie answered all of my questions in a timely manner and took the time to ensure that all scheduled milestones were met and within budget. It was very comforting for me to feel at ease with Hardy Boys Construction working on my home. Their insignia is that they turn their customers into friends, and they are not lying!

"I am writing to express my gratitude for the outstanding work you completed in my home in July. I could not be more pleased with the results you produced. The ceramic tile you installed in my kitchen, dining room, entry and three bathrooms is beautiful. The finished product reflects your skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Since this job was rather involved, including removal of existing floor, laying on new materials atop the subfloor, plumbing and woodwork, I appreciate the fact that you took the time to explain the process and answer all of my questions before beginning the work and then also during the stages of completion. It is typically difficult for the homeowner when work is in progress, particularly when it encompasses such a large, and frequently used, area. However, your efforts to minimize the inconvenience in my familys routine were evident as you intentionally tailored the work stages to suit our needs and you were diligent about cleaning up at the end of each day. Suffice it to say, you went above and beyond to accommodate and appease me, even if I deviated from the original work plan. Your flexibility was a testimony to your skill level. Since you were punctual and consistent, you completed the job in the time you had indicated and I was grateful for your many economical suggestions in terms of material selection. It was also a pleasure to have you and your crew in my home as you conducted yourselves with the utmost courtesy and consideration. Your knowledge and work ethic enabled me to confident in your abilities and I will be able to recommend you without hesitation. I look forward to calling upon you in the future to again perform quality work." ~Jill Hauschild; 08/2009, Elkton, MD

Turning Our Customers Into Friends Since 1998

General Info
My name is Donald Hardy. Most call me Donnie... It all began when I was a young child. My grandparents had a farm on 1,500 acres of land in Morgantown, West Virginia. I spent my adolescence helping and learning from my grandfather (Don Hardy). He was my idol and everything I wanted to be when I grew up. I remember thinking one evening, how cool it was to hang out with him and tag along wherever he went. He was an amazing worker, farmer and teacher. I believe he’d reminisce through his stories as we repaired barns, roofs, fences, or whatever came up. He would tell me how he would walk bare foot across cobble stone, delivering newspapers for a nickel, and he loved it. He loved helping his community. My teachings began nonchalantly through helping him with measurements, driving the tractor for property preservation, being so curious and asking why. I went from building my dog’s house to building a log cabin. I was so proud of myself and even more that he noticed my accomplishments. I helped build six (6) houses before I entered high school. I am so grateful I was able to experience first-hand, what so many people yearn for their entire life. Unfortunately, the concept of leadership, and self-perseverance has been forgotten over the years and further more. I developed a powerful work ethic that stuck with me through the years, and only grew bigger and stronger as I became established in my business as a young man at the age of 18. The most important attainable aspect of my grandfather’s teachings was this; Whatever you do in life, always be honest and true, if you are, you build a true and reliable reputation and your hand shake is all you need. When you give somebody your word, they trust you. And that alone is an incredibly rewarding quality to cherish. I work smart, hard and put my heart into all that I do, not because I have to, but because it’s the right thing to do and I enjoy doing it. Looking back, I have learned more than money can buy and schooling can offer. He has influenced me in such a way that I can only pray for the same appreciation from my children and grand children some day.

Services/Products
We all know the companies that provide you with a service, and they all claim to be the cheapest in your area. But are they really focusing on the most important part of the entire job (you)! We focus all of our attention on you, the customer. You may ask, well what about the price or what about quality workmanship? Think about it this way, when you own a company, no matter what service you provide, if you love what you do and do it with all of your heart, you transfer that same care and interest into making sure that you get the best price possible without compromising the integrity of the work in anyway. When you work from the heart you also analyze the work throughout the entire process from start to finish, to make sure the attention to details are never forgotten. We do our own walk through with the home owner to ensure they are completely 100% satisfied before the final payment. You may also say, wow you went above and beyond what we agreed upon. Because of this we are one of the top referred and preferred elite premier construction company in the tri-state area. We don’t give you a price based on the fact that we think it will get us more work , we don’t do a good job because we are worried about getting a good referral to gain us more work, we do it because it’s right and we love what we do! The look on my clients faces when I reveal the finished product is genuine appreciation and honest satisfaction. And that right there-that moment- is what it's all about. I can proudly walk away from a job site knowing I did everything in my power to get the job done right! My clients rely on me and I-not once-have let a single one down. Things to watch out for (red flags) Companies who say they can start tomorrow. People who are not established, or been in business for 2 minutes. No web site, lack of proper equipment, lack of leadership, no business cards. NO BOND. NO INSURANCE. NO LICENSE! People who don’t take the time to walk you through the estimate/contract. Improper inspection. Prices that are too high or low.
