The productions at the Granite are always very well done. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Prices are remarkably reasonable for live theatre in this crazy 'megaplex movies' world. Spacious yet intimate setting for some really good productions. Certainly worth community support for theatre lovers. A favorite with both locals and tourists alike. Certainly not pretentious. Only very minor drawback is the many stairs that lead up to the front door, but there is easy handicapped access via a ramp at the side enterance. Westerly offers a few very nice restaurants in the immediate area, so an evening out with dinner and a live play doesn't have to cost you your 401K. Perfect climate control within this vintage historic building adds to the enjoyment of the evening. Plenty of free covered parking within walking distance. Season subscriptions are great, and the website will tell you everything you will need to know about the current season of productions. Overall, a great experikence.

I enjoyed last nigh'ts production of 45 Seconds from Broadway. I would have left the place because it was so cold, but I could not insult the wonderful cast especially, Micheal Thurber. I welcomed the hot muggy air when I left the treatre. I understand the stage is very hot under the light. Perhaps you can aim the air vents in that direction. I woke this morning feeling that my throat and broncheal tubes had been snadpapered. Please do not subject future auduences to this experience I had last evening.
