      Located in West Chester, Pa., the Friends Association provides comprehensive care for children and families. Founded in 1814, the association is affiliated by statewide adoption network of approved and registered families. It serves in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania. The Friends Association offers a certification program for potential foster parents. The program includes ongoing training and support services. In addition, the association supports a transitional housing program. It offers adoption services for children in special needs to find permanent homes. The Friends Association conducts preservice training sessions for parents. The organization additionally provides an emergency family shelter for individuals.
