Over 20 years ago, I transferred my accounts from a huge international corporate bank to WSB. I've been pleased with the professionalism of WSB staff & their pleasant, accurate, & efficient service. Customer service reps are knowledgeable in helping me solve any problems. Online banking & telephone banking simplify tracking my accounts. WSB's gracious practice of posting a greeter at the front door is especially welcome. 2 years ago I moved from Belmont to Waltham. Now I bank at the Waltham Center WSB branch. When someone stole 2 checks and forged & cashed one check, a calm Watertown Square Customer Service rep explained the procedure for reporting the lost checks to the police. The Waltham Ctr. bank manager aided the police in getting my funds back. He set up a new account for me & monitored my former account to prevent further issues. I recommend WSB especially for those who want safe, friendly, efficient service. (Hide)

Great bank for personal service, very friendly, nobody is just a "number". Reccomend Savings and checking accounts there but NOT CDs. Since early 2009 their CD rates have been virtually the lowest in the state, perhaps due to bad investment in 2008... (More) Great bank for personal service, very friendly, nobody is just a "number". Reccomend Savings and checking accounts there but NOT CDs. Since early 2009 their CD rates have been virtually the lowest in the state, perhaps due to bad investment in 2008 ($14M loss). Check their CD rates against ANY other bank in area. Would merit 5 stars if not for lousy CD rates! (Hide)

I deposited two checks for five dollars from my credit card, percentage for spending certain amount of money per month, then I recieved a third check that was a scam. Thank goodness who ever was doing deposits fromt the ATM from the evening before c... (More) I deposited two checks for five dollars from my credit card, percentage for spending certain amount of money per month, then I recieved a third check that was a scam. Thank goodness who ever was doing deposits fromt the ATM from the evening before called me and asked if I realized that i was signing up for a program that would charge that credit card account almost 60 dollars for cashing a five dollar check! Ofcourse I hadnt read the fine print, have been very careful ever since -no "big bank" would have taken the time to call me, alert me or double check for me. Also, the 24 hour banking, with what is "current" and what,s "available" is priceless. I will stay at WSB as long as I am in Boston area. (Hide)
