We are a local Waterbury company that grew up loving to play in the dirt!Ron started this business with his father in 1981, working part time while he was still employed with the Vermont State Agency of Transportation plowing and doing various highway jobs such as truck driving, paving, drainage, and backhoe work. He plowed steep, dangerous, and icy roads such as McCullough Highway on Route 17 by Mad River Glen. He also managed the snow on Route 2, Route 100, and the Interstate. In 1980, he went to Heavy Equipment School in Pennsylvania and got his Heavy Equipment License. He then received his CDL (Commercial Drivers License) in Vermont. He left the State in 1983 and began to work with his father full time. Ron started out with a Ford tractor and 4 rototiller primarily doing small jobs. Most of our jobs came word of mouth from people seeing our work. By the end of that first summer our business had grown to over 100 customers between rototilling and mowing lawns. Our slogan was: Have Tractor Will Travel. Our next goal was to focus on winter services, so we bought a used pickup truck and a Meyers snow plow. We started plowing our own driveway as well as some of our relatives, neighbors, and friends. Before we knew it, word spread and we were plowing driveways for real customers, including commercial businesses. We didn't have much money then. We couldn't afford a sander, so all our sanding was done by hand. We had not just one shovel, but 2 shovels and a lot of muscle! It worked. By the end of that first winter, we had about 50 more customers.Over the years we slowly grew, adding equipment: a tractor, brush-hog, backhoe-loader, commercial diesel lawn mower, cub cadet rider, a one ton dump, plow, sander, and a tandem. We just replaced the old one ton with a new Ford F550 one ton dump. With the tandem trailer it takes up four parking spaces!Landscaping, excavation, trucking, & snow services.
