We believe that there is an inner longing and yearning in all people for spiritual awareness and fulfillment. We believe that the Christian church is the vehicle for: *Caring for each other and for all creation. *Providing a safe and inviting atmosphere where all people can come to know and meet Jesus Christ, and gather together to share and fellowship. *Providing opportunity for spiritual growth and wholeness. We believe that sharing Christ by fulfilling the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our church and the community is part of our calling as a part of the Body of Christ. We believe that the Word of God as found in the Bible is our standard in all matters of faith and worship. It is only through careful and diligent study of His Word that we can become the people God intends us to be. In whatever we do, we endeavor to put Him first. *A church renewed in their commitment to sharing the Hope of Christ by helping members recognize their gifts and talents and use them to the glory of God. We realize that there are many ways of proclaiming the Gospel. We envision a church that helps people to identify their special abilities and equips them to use those gifts. Since a large number of our congregation possesses special gifts in the area of music and the arts we envision a church actively using these gifts to introduce Christian entertainment to the community. *A church spiritually reenergized by providing opportunities for individual and corporate growth. We recognize that personal spiritual growth is necessary for us as individuals. If we're going to try to do "What Jesus would do", then we'd better know what he would do! How? Read the Bible, study, pray, meet with other Christians! Grow spiritually! We must equip ourselves first and only then can we effectively SHARE our Christian witness with the community. *A church revitalized, attracting new members with its unique inclusive style, presence, and mission. Our membership has slowly declined over the years. Our existence is threatened by lack of numbers. We must rebuild and increase our membership if we are to remain a church that is vital to the community in which we live. Trusting that God has given us our current vision, we also trust that He will give us the strength and the means to accomplish it. We understand that we cannot achieve what God has shown us without making changes. *Utilizing our gifts and talents in the areas of music and the arts to share our faith with others We recognize that there are as many ways to spread the Gospel, as there are people of God. It is the responsibility of the church to enable members to discover how they can use their gifts for God. We envision TUC as a center offering Christian music and the arts, as well as traditional and alternative worship experiences. *Growing spiritually as individuals and as a group In order to share God's love with others we need to be grounded in His love ourselves. We can accomplish this through Bible and other study, personal devotions, prayer, worship, and discussion and sharing groups. *Communicating that Trinity United Church is alive and well and has a positive contribution to make to the community. We are known as a warm, friendly, caring, and inclusive congregation to visitors and newcomers. But to come, people must know that we're here! We must market ourselves better and communicate to the community who we are and what we have to offer that will enrich their lives.
