New York Life - Advanced Planning Group (Joon Cho, JD, Assist. VP)

Joon brings a diverse background to the Advanced Planning Group. As a bilingual Korean American, he obtained his JD degree from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A degree in Sociology from Calvin College. After Law School, he turned his attention to the blossoming real estate market, guiding various property acquisitions in Boston and DC area for a real estate group until 2005. Then switching gears, he ventured into the growing Financial Services Industry by becoming a Financial Advisor with AXA Advisors, LLC, and then with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, where he ran an advisory practice for almost 5 years before joining the New York Life family. Joon is currently licensed for Series 7, Series 66, and Health and Life. In addition, Joon was appointed by then Chairman of Fairfax County, VA and current U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly, as a Commissioner for the Fairfax County Human Rights Commission, where he investigated matters of discrimination. Joon currently serves New York Life as an Advanced Planning Consultant. In the current role, he is responsible for supporting the New York Life agents and registered reps nationwide, as they add value to their affluent and business owner clients, in the areas of estate planning, executive benefits, business succession, and Lifetime Wealth Strategies.Less
