Preventing the pollution of natural water systems, through meeting or exceeding federal, state and local parameters, and by providing the highest level of service on all types of Wastewater, Potable Water, Industrial Water, and Aquatic Systems. Clean Water Service was established in 1969 by E. Chester Wood. Prior to this, Mr. Wood had been employed by Marolf Hygienic Equipment, which was established in 1939. After gaining experience with the engineering and manufacturing of wastewater treatment plants, Mr. Wood began to see the need for a service company. The company's purpose was to provide customers with the proper technical support and maintenance to keep the treatment plants operating effectively. Over the next several years, Mr. Wood was able to establish a strong reputation for excellent service and to develop the company until he retired in 1987. The business was then purchased by Thomas Kurfis, who designed and sold equipment needed to operate wastewater treatment plants. In March of 1997, Clean Water Service became incorporated. This allowed the business to expand its services and coverage, to include not only Northwest Ohio, but Southern Michigan and Northeast Indiana. Since then, CWS has grown even more and now offers treatment and servicing of Industrial Water, Potable Water and Aquatic Habitats.Less
