The first company that came to mind was, of course, ADT. They came out and gave us several options and the best equipment choices for our house. They were very helpful and very knowledgeable. The installer was even better. With a cat and two dogs he was very honest about what would be the best options for us, where to position certain items, and possible scenario's. Even when I leaned towards additional equipment (and more cost for us) he didn't think it was necessary and pointed out why. Everything has been working great and we couldn't be happier.  (Hide)

Can't Get anyone to Call Back! Salesperson took my money 2 weeks ago and haven't heard from anyone since. Buyer beware!!!

BEWARE and stay away from ADT Security. Their billing employees are RUDE and ARROGANT. They don't know how to listen to reason.

Stay away from ADT, they have over 1,700.00 complaints in The Better Business Bureau and they keep loosing customers, they keep raising their monitoring fees every year. John P. FL.

Clearly the 5 star reviews were written by employees of ADT. This company and their associated "service" represents some of the worst our free enterprise system tolerates. They continue to stay in business because they get the business volume. ... (More) Clearly the 5 star reviews were written by employees of ADT. I think it is important to remember nothing is free most of these reviews are upsurb the basic package is 2 doors and a motion detector and if you want or need more you gotta pay. The price may sound high but I assure you these Companies are... (More) I think it is important to remember nothing is free most of these reviews are upsurb the basic package is 2 doors and a motion detector and if you want or need more you gotta pay. The price may sound high but I assure you these Companies are doing little more then covering cost. As for feeling as though you should not have to pay for the time that your system is done is silly also , but on the flip side the alarm company should try to place service as a higher priority. The truth is that when you are as big as ADT you should have the work force to take care of business in a timely fashion........  (Hide)

I live in the south suburbs and recently started a at home daycare service. I received details from Advance Tech security and Wiring that were invalueable. Keep up the good work and I will of course tell all my friends.

When you first get it ... it is all wine and roses but once they have you paying it becomes a can't be bothered attitude. (More) When you first get it ... it is all wine and roses but once they have you paying it becomes a can't be bothered attitude. Trying to do the monthly preventive checks makes you feel like you are bothering them and they never want to come out when there is a problem with the system. Instead they have you check this and check that until they just say it must be something with your wiring. If they truly care about our security and the ability to feel safe they should come look when there is a problem. I have had enough and I am going to find someone who truly cares about my family and not just concerned with how much money they can take from us.  (Hide)

Then, 6 months later, called to tell us that analog was not supported any longer (how long has... (More) If negative stars were allowed, ADT would get a -5. They did a bait and switch on us by installing an analog wireless transmitter in our system. Then, 6 months later, called to tell us that analog was not supported any longer (how long has everyone known about that? not a new idea) and we had to upgrade for another $199.00. Reluctantly, we did. Then, their first monthly phone test did not complete. Set up a service call a week later. Had to take vacation day from work to be there. Technician did not show up, did not call. At 7:30, called customer service and was cut off after 33 minutes of holding. Then, ADT calls to say the technician is not coming. First appointment was for two weeks later. Meanwhile, we have no service. One month and counting. Under no circumstances should anyone willingly begin service with ADT.  (Hide)

We've just had problem after problem with ADT for one of our commercial buildings. First of all, the computer that controls the software crashed and ADT charged us to reinstall the software on a new computer even though we have a maintenance... (More) We've just had problem after problem with ADT for one of our commercial buildings. First of all, the computer that controls the software crashed and ADT charged us to reinstall the software on a new computer even though we have a maintenance agreement with them. They've been working on one of our gates for almost a month and still have not gotten it working properly. Everytime they say they need to come back "next time" I have to wait at least a week. Their technicians do not look professional, the people in their call center are rude, and I'm throwing money out the door for a non-functional security system which has been this way the past 6-7 months. Needless to say, in my book, I cannot recommend ADT to anyone except maybe an enemy...but even that might be too cruel.  (Hide)
