Bolts only come wit 8 yards on them. For upholstery projects it is often atleast that. Makes it disappointing to have to walk away empty handed.

I was in Joannes in Tavares for fabric. I had 10 bolts. There were no customers waiting so the kind, polite clerk jumped to help me. Another, very rude customer was huffing because I was receiving help. However, the clerk only saw me and was just doing her job. I love the friendly staff and am there weekly. I do understand that I'm not their only customer, so on days i have to wait my turn I do it with a smile. Love sewing, love Joannes in Tavares!! 5 stars!

SHAME ON YOU JOANN'S IN TAVARES, FLORIDA!!!! I shop at this location weekly and I have always used coupons from Joann's or from your competitors to purchase my thread, ribbon and quilt binding. On Saturday evening after waiting 15 minutes to check out I presented a coupon from MICHAEL's that was giving 25% percent off the entire purchase including sale items, which is a coupon you offer occasionally. The clerk stated that they do not honor the coupons for percentages from competitors and when I asked for a Manager she came up and agreed with the checkout clerk. Since this was an issue I had to put back half my order and then I asked if I could obtain my phone from the car to load the coupon from Joann's for $5.00 off an order of $25.00 or more and she said no. I was then offered a 40% off my highest item coupon which gave me a 1.00 off my bill. I have consulted your website on the rules and regulations on accepting coupons and it does not state anywhere that a percentage coupon from a competitor was excluded. If so please show me! I was a very loyal customer and visited weekly for supplies for my home sewing business. I am now actively looking for another supplier even if I have to drive an hour away.



This location needs an overhaul and or retraining of staff. I have had several problems with staff in the past. One clerk who works at the fabric counter who refused to cut my fabric after I waited 20 minutes. I had just answered an emergency call when my number was called and she took the number behind me instead stating " I don't service people who are on their phones!". There was another instance I had a taken a number for fabric to be cut, the clerk walked away so I stepped 10 feet from the counter to look at thread while she was gone. When she returned she immediately took the lady that just walked up to the counter with 10 bolts of fabric to be cut . When I said I had the next number she said that they were not taking numbers that day and since I was not right there waiting I had to wait for her to service this customer. I then had to wait 22 minutes because the customer had to clerk discuss every fabric in detail and try to decide on how much she needed. Also I have often left when I arrive or proceeded to check out when there is more than 6 people waiting to check out because there always one clerk there. They never call for help and love to chat up each customer and want to hear what they are making in great detail. Sometimes this very frustrating when your are in a time crunch to get to work and you have waited 20-25 minutes to check out. I do not mind chatting up the customer, but when it takes you 5-7 minutes with each customer that only have a few items, because you want to hear what they are making and why they are selecting times they have it gets very frustrating. This store has a great selection, and the employees are very helpful. I mostly buy fabrics and the ladies are the cutting counter are always cheerful and friendly.

It is always a pleasure to shop there, someone is always ready to help you with a friendly smile.
