Also have MRI, CT, and multiple types of x-ray equipment on location. Surgery center is very clean. All doctors and nurses as well as the staff are very nice and professional. While I did see a PA they were followed by the Dr/surgeon. Only down side is the waiting.  (Hide)

I have to agree with the first rating...I made an appointment after doing alot of research on this specific Dr. and made an appointment cause I wanted an expert to see my problem. After waiting for about 30 minutes in the room, the PA shows up,... (More) I have to agree with the first rating...I made an appointment after doing alot of research on this specific Dr. and made an appointment cause I wanted an expert to see my problem. After waiting for about 30 minutes in the room, the PA shows up, and I agree looking around 20 to 25 years old and I'm thinking to myself how much experience can this PA really have...Again, I would not have minded at all if when I made my appointment someone would have told me I was going to be seen by a PA and not the Dr.  (Hide)

(More) I recently suffered a knee injury, and since I had meniscus cartilage removal in both knees years ago, I wanted to find an accomplished orthopedic surgeon that could diagnose and treat my current injury, as well as offer insight on future knee replacement or other successful therapies. I chose Florida Orthopaedic Institute because of their claim to be the largest provider in the state of Florida, and their claim that they are recognized internationally for 'comprehensive services'. Well, they are definitely large ... maybe, too large. My appointment was for 10:15 am, and I signed in as patient #20 that morning. I waited for 45 minutes and when my name was called, I noticed a hand-written sign had been posted at the check-in counter that read: "The Doctor is Running 30 Minutes Behind Schedule. We Apologize For Any Inconvenience." I was led into a room and told the doctor would be with me in a bit. Well, the doctor never came. Instead, I was seen by his "Physician Assistant", who looked about 21-22 years old. She moved my knee around, made a diagnosis, and gave me a RX for an anti-inflammatory. I have nothing against physician's assistants - if I am advised when making an appointment that is who I will be seeing. I drove about 45 miles to get the extra added benefits of this large group's expertise, which I clearly didn't receive.  (Hide)

Although the doctors are the top in the country, they forget we are... (More) I would give them a 5 rating but over the last few years their "corporate mind" has taken over their "physician mind." I have had 3 surgeries through them and my husband one. Although the doctors are the top in the country, they forget we are patients. From start to finish some of the doctors will take you through 6 to 8 months of testing before doing anything. There is at least 3 to 4 hours wait in their offices and at least a one month wait just to get an appointment. I loved my knee surgeon Herscovici, my husbands knee surgeon Dr. Leffers was again awesome. My spine surgeon was the best as far as the surgery part went. But he leaves much to desire for bedside manner, listening, or paying attention to the patients needs. (Castellvi) But again, I wouldn't want to trust my spine to anyone else and there fore I have put up with the lack in other areas just for the quality. But my last visit for a shoulder injury left a very bad taste in my mouth for FOI and I will never return.  (Hide)
