I went to see Dr. Tolley for extraction of my wisdom teeth. The initial consultation took 3 months to get. Once I got... (More) I went to see Dr. Tolley for extraction of my wisdom teeth. The initial consultation took 3 months to get. Once I got it - the initial visit went well and surgery was scheduled 3 weeks out (around my trial schedule which was very important to me). BUT then, they called LESS THAN 48 hours prior to my surgery to tell me that the insurance company hadn't returned my pre-authorization yet and I would owe $1700 at the time of my surgery. They gave me NO PRIOR WARNING that they even had to do a pre-authorization. Then, LESS THAN 24 hour prior to the surgery they called to tell me that even thought it had now been approved, they were refusing to treat me because I had called and complained about their procedure for not giving me any appropriate notice regarding this insurance issue they were having. The office had billed the insurance company INCORRECTLY, TWICE which is why they didn't have it authorized yet. It was THEIR fault for doing it wrong and then refused to treat ME!
