About the Liibrary: The Hairston Crossing branch of the DeKalb County Public Library is one of the four "round" neighborhood branches which opened in 1990. The library is located on Redan Road about 1/4 mile East of the intersection of South Hairston and Redan Roads, and is named after this intersection. Hairston Crossing serves the Mainstreet and Hidden Hills communities and the surrounding neighborhoods. Hairston Crossing serves as a Popular Materials Center by providing high-demand adult and children's books. In 2000, the Hairston Crossing branch's Technology Training Center was introduced. Featuring ten Internet-connected PCs given to the library through a Gates Foundation grant, the Technology Training Center offers patrons classes in computer skills, as well as increased access to GALILEO and other electronic reference databases.
