Mission Statement The mission of Stafford County Public Schools is to challenge each student to reach his or her potential and to prepare each student to succeed in society. Implementing the Mission As one of the fastest growing school divisions in the Commonwealth, Stafford County schools continue to strive to meet the educational needs of an increasingly diverse student population. To meet such challenges, the Stafford County School Board adopted a revised Division Six-year Plan in February 2002. Representatives from school board advisory committees met for nearly a year to develop goal statements for the division in each of the following areas: Student Attendance and Achievement, School Climate and Safety, School and Community Relations, and, Professional Development. The Division Six-year Plan serves as a coordinating document for schools and administrative departments to provide the best possible educational programs for the students of Stafford County. The School Board has set specific strategies to further improve the quality of instruction. Goal 1: Provide educational excellence through instruction that establishes high expectations for all students yet recognizes the unique needs of each learner. Goal 2: Integrate technology in support of all instruction. Goal 3: Encourage parents and the community to increase their interest and involvement in our schools. Goal 4: Address the impact of continuing population growth by developing plans to address expanding staff, facilities, transportation, attendance zones, and instruction. Goal 5: Provide facilities that promote student learning and community support. Goal 6: Introduce programs to enhance employee status, within the school division and the community at large, so that employees are aware of their value to school and community. Goal 7: Provide school environments where teachers are safe to teach and students are safe to learn. Goal 8: Provide School Board leadership in advocating for adequate funding in support of Stafford County Public Schools.
