Dr. Hughes & his staff are wonderful! They make you feel like family. At my appointment today he told me that I may not need to wear braces as long as he first thought. Making great progress. Added rubber bands and sent me on my way so I could make it to school on time.

My daughter and I both have had our orthodontics with Dr. Hughes and have both been very happy with the results as well as with the terrific staff and Dr. Hughes himself.

As an adult, and not a young one at that, it was disheartening to have to get braces. Still, it had to be done in order to restore my teeth, which were in pretty bad shape due to severe bruxia (grinding). Everyone, beginning with the first consultation through to the last visit when the braces were removed, everyone from Dr. Hughes to the receptionist, was a consummate professional as well as friendly and welcoming. And there were many visits, but because the offices open early in the morning, I was able to fit them in and still go to work in downtown Washington. The result was such that my dentist was able to do the restoration and I don't have to smirk instead of smile to hide my misshapen teeth. I feel better and even younger and don't have to hide when a camera appears (or smart phone these days). Thank you Dr. Hughes and staff.

We went in for a consult to determine if any orthodontic work is required. The technicians and staff were very friendly and helpful. They explained each step along the wayfrom x-rays and pictures, to what the doctor would be discussing. Dr. Hughes was very friendly and clearly knows orthodontia! He was also clear in his explanation of what he recommended and gave us optionsone of which included doing nothing and waiting. Which is refreshing to hear when it is a viable option! We are looking forward to moving forward with orthodontic care here.

Office staff is very organized, friendly, and personable. Orthodontist staff take the time to explain what they are doing, what they have done, and what to expect in the future. They are gentle and considerate. The office is extremely clean. Outstanding!

Yet another fantastic appointment at Dr. Hughes's office! The newly renovated space offers a very professional and state-of-the-art feel, as well as added privacy, on top of the attentive service we always receive. The addition of Dr. Mascia to the team was genius! He has an amazing bedside manner, and my son (a very tough customer) loved him. He even managed to convince my kiddo to let him pull out a loose tooth that's been hanging on for months. He did this with great style and humor, and we couldn't be happier with the treatment at this office. Braces are not fun for kids, but this group (from the front desk to the assistants to the doctors) eases the experience tenfold. Keep up the great work!

I recently visited Dr. Hughes' Orthodontics to have a new retainer made after having dental work completed (changing the fit of the old one). I was a bit nervous going in to my appointment, almost expecting less attention or priority since my brace are off. I experienced the contrary! All of the sunny and positive personalities I've missed were still there, still creating beautiful smiles! Everyone was extremely welcoming, accommodating and excited to see me; as I was to see them! The office is as colorful and cheery as I remember and I was very excited to see a blueprint on the wall for expansion coming in January 2014! It makes me want braces again just to spend time with these folks! Although my visit required little time compared to a normal checkup when I had braces, I did not feel rushed. Dr. hughes took time to ask about how things were going and the entire staff complimented the awesome smile they left me with! I feel motivated to wear my retainer even more now; seeing how invested this team of professionals is in both creating and maintaining great smiles! When it was time to pick my retainer up later that afternoon, I happened ot be in the area on another errand and called to see if I could come earlier than my scheduled appointment. They had no problem with this and made time for me! What can I say? They're the best! If you need braces, go there! Seriously!
