I have been going to this shop for over 7 years, and Roger has always been very helpful. I can honestly say that, although I've never taken a lesson or gone fishing with him, he has helped me become a better angler just by sharing his knowledge on the entomology of the local waters and tactics to use on them. I can't speak to his other staff, but if you have questions or need help Roger is very approachable and wants to help you in anyway he can. Ignore the lower ratings, for a town of 17,000 this shop has damn near everything you need, and if they don't I'm certain they can get it for you.

Decent selection, have to agree with the previous review though. The older gentleman who checked me out was pretty full of himself. Will shop again in the future for occasional items.

Odd how "guest" and "anonymous" can recall the entire staff and beyond this hole in the wall. Beyond the obvious if you are looking for an ego driven shop that will tell you how much better than you along with anyone else that is what is out there waiting for you. Shops like these drive people away from wanting to learn how to fly fish. I reside in Sheridan and do all my shopping elsewhere simply because I do not care to be berated every time I walk into a store to spend my hard earned money.

In the last few years I've witnessed a fly shop continually evolve in a difficult market. FSOBH's continually strives to order and carry products that are not currently carrying in order to satisfy their customers. Their fly tying selection has gone from average to the best I've seen! Keep it up guys!!

The guides at the Fly Shop of the Bighorns are great. They are knowledgeable, energetic and skilled. Scott, David, Todd, John and Bret have great stories and deep knowledge of the waters. Check out their shop and stop by to fish with them. I enjoyed my time with those guys and look forward to my next trip.

I don't know that you can do better than having Roger Miller/Fly Shop of the Big Horns guide you on his trout waters. He is everything you expect and want in guide. One promise, no matter your skill level, you will catch fish and have fun. Highly recommended.
