Mission and Background Florida Non-Profit housing, Inc. (FNPH) is the successor organization of the American Friends Service Committees Florida Migrant and seasonal Farmworker Housing effort. FNPH was formed in 1978 with the initial goal of providing farmworker housing throughout the State of Florida, through the provision of Technical Assistance and Training (TAT) to nonprofit housing providers. Today, the primary goal is still the same, but the service area has expanded to include several states (AL, DE, FL, GA, KY, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico). Our target group has also been broadened to include all low and very-low income rural residents. Services Provided: - Assisting existing organizations or creating new ones in communities that desire to develop affordable housing. - Explaining the various alternatives available. - Assisting in the development of applications for funding. - Training board of directors and staff. - Conducting conferences and workshops. - Keeping groups informed of changes at the state and federal levels. - Publishing newsletters and various statistical reports. - Networking and developing new alternatives where necessary and possible.
