I love this place! I was looking for more than what most general fitness gyms call 'kickboxing', but I didn't want to take on a full martial arts regimen. At MMAA, I found the perfect balance. We hit real bags and pads but not each other! The workout is challenging *and* fun. The people are very supportive.I have not tried the martial arts classes, but based on the quality of the kickboxing classes and what I know of Keven (the owner and head instructor), I expect those classes to be exceptional as well.MMAA rocks!

I have been in the Fitness Kickboxing program at Modern Martial Arts Academy for about a year and a half and I can't recommend it enough. The classes are challenging, but fun; the instructors knowledgeable and encouraging; and the class members great about propagating the positive and supportive environment of the class. These classes have changed my mind, body, self-image, and confidence. Only moving to another city will come between me and this academy!

This has been the first exercise class that I've been able to stick with, and now I am going on my SIXTH year! Before finding this class, I didn't really like to exercise but I've been able to stick to these classes because they are fun, fast-paced, and always challenging. I love that we get to practice real techniques and punch the heavy bags (rather than "air" like some of the gym classes I've done). Plus, every month the focus of the classes change which keeps things new and fresh. The students are friendly and encouraging and I plan on doing this for years to come :)
