The Lodge is a fine dining restaurant featuring Northeastern cuisine with a Mediterranean flare and over 150 wine labels plus, a selection of small batch bourbons and single malt scotches. The elegant ambiance is enhanced by live piano performances in the main lounge. Constructed in the early nineteen-hundreds, the building served as the private residence of Mr. Harry Payne Whitney and was previously known as "The Cedar Lodge". The building later became the executive office of Saratoga Harness Racing, Inc. and was nicknamed "The Lodge" and was later converted into a seasonal restaurant in 1995. To this day, The Lodge features original elegant inlaid cedar walls, oak and pecan floors and beautiful outdoor landscaping. The building remains reminiscent of old Saratoga style and resonates the original warm ambiance once enjoyed by the Whitney family. The Lodge is located behind the main gaming facility, on the east side of the harness track at 1 Nelson Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. The Lodge is now closed until July 2010, but is available year-round for special events. The Garden Buffet, conveniently located on the gaming floor, gives you the variety you?re looking for! Choose from Italian, Asian, American, and Southwestern cuisines along with a carving station, salad bar, and an array of desserts. In addition, savory prime rib, cooked to perfection, is available during dinner hours. At just $12.95 for lunch and $14.95 for dinner, the Garden Buffet is a value that can?t be beat.
