Go Elsewhere! Dr M and the team disregarded my cat's symptoms of toxin poisoning despite my repeated questions and concerns about her extreme lethargy, constant drooling, bubble/foam coming out of her mouth on two occasions while she was at bluepearl, not swallowing, not closing her mouth and her tongue sticking out at all times after I explained our pool cage had been treated with a toxin the day before. The emphasis placed on her discomfort in her lower back seemed more important than the obvious signs and distress of poisoning as x-rays were taken and nothing out of the ordinary was found in her lower region. She continued to decline the two hours we were there yet, I was sent home with pain and inflammation meds only. Immediately upon returning home, my cat began to bleed internally with blood coming out of her mouth. Only upon returning to your facility and asking for another doctor to see her was she admitted and treated for toxin poisoning. Dr. M disregarded my concerns but more importantly my cat's symptoms of apparent toxin poisoning. The nail in the coffin was when I returned, I was asked to put down a $921.15 "deposit" for the hospital stay and treatment after just overpaying $671.26 for poor care and some testing and meds that were not needed. I have been bringing my dog there for 11 years and always had faith that he was well taken care of. Dr. Kirsch has performed two ACL surgeries on my dog. That was before bluepearl took over. Their website states they have "extensive knowledge and experience treating complex illnesses including toxin ingestion. They missed the mark and my cat suffered. I won't be back and I will let my friends know not to go as well. Although Dr. M was compassionate and very nice, he misdiagnosed my cat in serious trouble and put more emphasis on a uncomfortable backside. (I am posting this on every review site I can find to save other pet lovers the pain and suffering my cat and I have endured due to bluepearl dismissing my cat's toxin poisoning)

We have never had to experience a 24 hour vet emergency hospital before but to know the professional care is available in our community is very reassuring. Dr. Collins, Lee, and Shawna went into overdrive to care for our rambunctious 11 year old Muse who fell at home and had respiratory distress. Our biggest concern was not knowing what was going on but Shawna would convey our concerns and Lee or Dr. Collins would let us either see him or tell us what was going on.I hope no one has to use vet emergency services but if you do, they are there for you 24/7. Thank you.

This is a great facility. We were 1200 miles away from our primary vet when our dog Cocoa took sick. We called on a Saturday night at 10:30pm and Diane provided directions. We were seen promptly by Red the vet tech who took all info on Cocoa's health and symptons. Dr. Schell examined her and was compassionate and caring. We felt very comfortable with her diagnosis and left with meds and a relieved feeling Thank you very much.

To all of YOU- Again, thank you for all your support and compassion. After picking up Lucky on Monday morning ( 7-9-12 ) he and I spent a full day of quality together-time. We shared caressing, reminiscing and expressing love by marking, purring and petting. As the day wore on he began to look for good hiding places as he had weakened significantly -- but I did not want him to leave me -- and when he found it was futile to find hiding, Lucky simply laid down and slept comfortably all afternoon next to his and my favorite chair. At dusk I took Lucky to say goodbye to his regular vet friends and to let him enjoy a more restful and peaceful sleep than he'd ever known. Lucky was buried at sunset on Monday, July 9, 2012. I am very grateful to all of you. Sincerely, Lyn

I just wanted to thank the doctors at this hospital for all their help. I have never come across such a compassionate group of people, and Jennifer at the front desk was especially helpful. Bailey is back at home and doing well now. We are very grateful for everything that was done for her.

They are the best with my dog. They saved his life. They are kind and compassionate with the owners and the pets. Sarasota is lucky to have such a top notch facility for our pets!!

They are the best. My Yorkie was with them for three surgeries and over 11 days. They gave him incredible clinical care, love and attention. It was expensive but they never overcharged me. They were fair about the invoice and charged less than they could have. Every person on staff cared about my dog. This clinic allowed me to visit multiple times a day just to hold my dog. They were compassionate with me when we were so very close to losing him. Everyone says he is lucky to have survived but it is not just luck. They put in the effort that made it possible for him to live. He is lucky we chose this clinic.

This hospital is has an amazing staff that work hard and express genuine compassion for pets. Pet emergencies are a very stressful situation for owners such as myself. The Dr.s and nurses helped me through a very difficult time when my pet ingested a large amount of cocoa powder. I was very panicked when I came home to discover my pet had ingested a toxic dose. The Dr. and nurses helped me through a difficult time. I could not afford all of the treatments they recommended but they did not make me feel guilty and like I was a bad pet owner. They gave me specific things to watch for and told me to immediately notify them and come back if my pet showed any symptoms of the toxicity and helped me treat my pet with minimal immediate care. I actually felt bad for the nurses who had to clean all the vomit they induced and they were covered in the black charcoal my pet refused to swallow. Without this clinic and their kindness, compassion at 4am. I do not knwo what I would of done! Thank You!

Our cat was unable to urinate and the doctor we saw went over everything in depth with us. We had some money concerns, but the doctor was very patient with us and gave us several options to treat our pet. I read the previous reviews about them only wanting money, but I disagree. We were not treated like that at all. The doctor was a woman that helped us, and she told us the pros and cons of each of the things we could do and which ones were most important if we had to choose. She helped us make a decision and still get our cat treated. THANK YOU!

I used this hospital many years ago and was surprised to see the changes that were made. The hospital is clean and warm, and the staff was so kind. I was able to watch tv jn the exam room and the staff brought me coffee while we waited. The 3 doctors we cane in contact with over the weekend were very thorough and compassionate. We had such a great experience here. I hope we never have to go back, but if we do I know we'll be in good hands. Thanks so much for helping Charlie through!!

Christmas Eve I made the terrible error of taking a puppy to the Emergency clinic. The puppy had some how caused a strip to be torn from his rather large hound dog ear. The strip hanging down off the end of his ear had been carefully wrapped and the puppy on arrival to the emergency clinic was no longer bleeding or in pain as witnessed by the way he readily fell asleep on the waiting room floor while waiting for the vet, and filling out a 2 page questionnaire. Which included a copy of my drivers license. We waited for what seemed like forever but, since I have worked in human hospital I realize we were not a priority. Eventually the tech came in listened to his heart, took his temperature and asked about the injury. Finally the vet came in and began to unwrap the ear at this point the puppy became in serious pain so the vet gave him an injection for pain. So far so good. NEXT the est. for 600.00 surgery to cut aprox 1.5inch of puppy ear holding the strip on! OMG.

On October 9, 2010 I had to take my dog to SVEH because he was in so much pain and shaking uncontrollably. We were seen immediately, the diagnois was almost as quick, followed up by xrays which were read by the onsite doctors but an off-site neurologist as well. I found the entire staff extremely responsive to not only my pet - but me - the freaked-out pet parent!!! Everything was fully explained to me from the xrays to the medicines prescribed. There was a palatable feeling within the room of extreme professionalism, tempered with extreme caring, by the whole staff - doctors, vet techs, receptionist. Best vet practice I have ever experienced. Bogey's Mom

Bad for emergency situations...and very slow-my dog was shaking, and clearly weak. We told the technician he did not eat for 2 days, and we waited 1 hour and 15 min. and still did not see a doctor. They were eating lunch while we were sitting and waiting with your dog, and their lack of care towards our concern and dog was very disappointing. We left after waiting 75 minutes to another vet clinic. I do not recommend this hospital if you want your pet to be taken care of as soon as possible, or have any type of emergency.

Our two Borzois escaped from our yard after midnight last Sunday. One was hit by a car and both were transported to S.V.E.H. by Animal Services. The male had a collapsed lung and a serious breakage of the front left leg. Our pet has so far made a remarkable recovery from this tragedy due to the expertise and great care provided by the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Though I hope to never need their services again, tongue in cheek, they got us all through this horror that all pet owners fear. SVEH recognizes that our animals are family members and treats them as such. I highly recommend their services if ever required in an emergency. Thank you and best regards from Kacey and Roulette
