In business since 1948, Landrys Furniture Barn Inc. offers quality furniture Landry's Furniture Barn Inc. has been selling fine furniture in the York County community since the 1940's. It began as a furniture and appliance store on Jackson St., behind Stanford's House of Pizza. It was then known as Landry's Furniture Company, owned by Rene Landry until his death in the 1960's. It is a little-known fact that Rene's brother Rudy owned a second Landry's Furniture Company, in the town of Livermore Falls.in the Sanford, Maine area. Call us today at (207) 324-9359.The Sanford store was best known for its Krazy Day Sales on President's Day weekend, as well as its family treatment of customers. The store integrated itself into a part of the community and thrived throughout the 60's and early 70's. It was in 1973 that the store, now owned by nephew Bob Landry, was envisioned as larger, packed to the gills with furniture, used as well as new. In 1974, Bob Landry's Furniture Barn Inc. opened on the corner of Main Street and Breary Avenue, 2 miles down the road. The original store closed its doors, but still quietly serves as the warehouse for its big brother down the road. Bob Landry ran the store with the idea that buying furniture should be a wheeling and dealing enterprise, and if you left feeling you got a great deal, his job was done right. Bob hired his cousin Rick Landry on to be his general manager. As the years wore on, Rick became the day-to-day operator of Landry's, and in 1993 after Bobby's death, Rick took over the business he had managed for 20 years. Changing the name back to Landry's Furniture, and keeping Barns on the end, Landry's Furniture reinvented itself for the economic boom of the 90's, as a giant mark-down showroom of quality new furniture, shying away from the sale of used furniture. Today, the store employs a crew of 7 full and part-time employees, as well as two delivery vehicles. At the core is the idea that our store still serves the community, like it always has. It is the service, not the sale that counts to the family, as well as making sure customers always leave with a smile on their face, confident in their decision on furniture. Rick now runs the store, with the help of his repairman of 30 years Tom LeBlanc and his son Kyle, who works the sales floor by his side. They plan on serving their community for many more years to come!
