The only reason he has one star is because it does not allow me to give none! Al quotes you a price, and then charges you more. I was going in to get my timing belt changed and he said $480. After it was all said and done he charged me $797 because he felt that the cam shafts needed to be fixed as well. 24 hrs later my Check Engine light came on. After researching and checking the code, it had to do with my cam shaft and timing belt. When I called to ask Al what was going on he said he did not recognize the code and that it was an "aftermarket code". When I told him what the code meant, he tried to blame it on the fact that someone else had messed with the cam shaft and that he did his best to fix the "amateurs mistake". He tried to tell me that it is because I did not get regular oil changes. I have receipts from all my oil changes and the paperwork. I get regular oil changes! He was incredibly rude over the phone and unreasonable. I WOULD NOT ever recommend him and his shop.

I suspect the preceeding reviews were owner sponsored. I attempted to get a 74 144 repaired at Al's, the following occured: -Wanted $500.00 to just life the valve cover and inspect the valves (with no repair) -Was indifferent to any sort of timeline. -Charges for no work done were $130.00 -Couldn't have cared less about customer satisfaction. -When told I didnt want to "break the bank" on the repair, he stated "Why bother then?" If you looking to be frustrated, fleeced, and left with an unrepaired car, this shop is the shop for you! There is a REASON this shop moves locations frequently.

Al's Volvo has been in Business for 41 Years and their knowledge of a wide range of Years ,makes, and Models proves it. I have an older and a Newer Vovlo and generally with just a few questions about issues you may be having, they typically can get right to it.They are definitely very honest, and very fair with their pricing.I would highly recommend them to all of my Vovlo friends and family members.Delana is wonderful to deal with as well!

Al's Volvo is the best place in the Salt Lake Valley to bring in your Volvo for repairs and service. Al and his family treat you with respect. They are fair and up front in their dealings with their customers. They don't overcharge or tell you that your car has problems that it really does not have.
