Of course, the dog gets sick or hurt on the weekend or when the regular vet is on vacation. We are lucky to have this level of animal care in our community. I do wish they would expand to a full-time clinic for well & sick pets. The level of care far exceeds the typical vet for a fairly affordable price. At one time, we had 3 dogs. This ER diagnosed one with a complicated endocrine disorder; saved her life. She lived well for about a year, then they found a tumor & had to be euthanized. We were so glad it happened on a weekend so we could bring her here. Recently our 15 year old dog also had to be put down. Thank goodness on a weekend again. Both times we were put in a comfortable room with couches & tissues & allowed to be with our pets when they passed on. These people are professional & kind. They know how to discuss difficult situations & are excellent at predicting the cost of complex care. Waits can be long because of weekend only hours, but we feel well worth it.

I have had to visit Pet ER on 2 occassions with 2 different dogs. They are amazing from the time you have to call and ask questions to the visit. They treated my puppy with the utmost care and compassion. They explained in great detail what what was happening and how to care for her. I'd rate it with more stars if I could.

Our 10 year old english bulldog got very ill very fast. When we called our regular vet he was out of town and suggested that we take her to PET'S ER in Salisbury should her condition worsen. By the next morning when she was worse not better we took her in. The staff took her in immediately and begain assessing her. They made her comfortable. They sat us down for a consultaion. Dr. Drewer came and gave us our options and told us that our pet had several terminal illnesses going on and that there was really nothing they could do. Surgery was an option but she would not likely survive. That putting her to rest was the best thing for her. We agreed as we didnt want our Baby Girl to suffer any more. The staff was wonderfully compassionate and allowed us to have all the time we needed to say good bye. The doctor came in when the proceedure was done. She was very tender and caring and cried with us as we said goodbye to our family member. I would highly recommend PET's ER to anyone !!!!

The Dr. and staff of Pets ER are amazing. When our 8 week old chocolate lab puppy fell off our front step and broke her leg she was in excruciating pain. It was late and our family vet was closed, so we took the 45 minute ride to Pets ER in Salisbury. When they saw her, they immediately took her to the back where they began pain meds to make her more comfortable and stabilized the leg to avoid causing her any more pain. They offered to keep her through the night so that they could give her the pain meds as often as needed. We returned first thing the next morning to a much more comfortable puppy and immediately took her to our own vet where she had surgery to repair the leg. One week after her fall, Pets ER called to follow up and see how she had made out with her surgery and how she was recovering! I was very pleased with their service, their friendliness, their thoroughness and the fact that pain management was priority. Highly recommend!

Notably good service experience. Pet's ER is a good place to take an animal in critical condition.

A car in front of me hit a cat. I stopped and got the cat and immediately took it to Pet's ER. She had a cut on her head, tip of ear off and a broken front leg. She stabilized the cat and offered me many different choices for treatment. I had her x-ray the leg and saw it was broken above the elbow. It can't be casted. She said the cat was 5 months old and if kept from jumping the leg may heal itself. She lowered the initial walk in fee because I was a good samaritan trying to help a cat. The next morning I took the cat to my vet. They already new everything that Pet's ER did for her and they agreed with her suggestion of letting it heal itself. I have had the cat for 1 year now and she has a limp but the leg healed all by itself. Pet's ER is an emergency vet. If your animal is not in critical condition and can wait until the regular vet opens then wait. ER's stabilize pets and the rest of the treatment is done through your reg vet.

The best decision I ever made!

I visited Dr. Drewer and her animal ER this weekend...My little dog zoe(miniture dachshund) went into labor around 9pm Saturday night...After a few long hours of labor I became concerned and was referred to the PET's ER by my regular vet. We were welcomed with open arms by a great staff(even at 3am). Dr. Drewer was very friendly, open, and explained every detail of the situation in terms even a child would understand. She preformed a C section on my dog due to complications during birth(male was a larger breed)?Everything went great and all the puppies(6) as well as the mother are doing great? She is a great VET and from the little time I spent with her she seems like a wonderful person?I just wish she took regular patients...

THEY DO THEIR BEST WHEN FAMILY VET CAN'T OR WON'T BE REACHED,EXPENSIVE BUT CONCERNED.

Thank God for PET ER IN SALISBURY,most vet's could care less about the animals and people that have seen them for years, when you need your family Vet,you never can get them and the govenment keeps you from getting medicine to treat the sick animal, your last hope is PET ER,MY DOG DIED THERE,I LOST 500 BUCKS THERE THE ONLY WINNER IS THE VET.It's my family Vet's fault for not being able to be reached.I feel PET ER DID THEIR BEST BUT STILL LOST MY BEST FRIEND OF 8 YEARS OLD,NO X-RAYS WERE TAKEN AND I DON'T FEEL WE TRIED HARD ENOUGH TO SAVE HER. BUT THANK GOD THERE IS A PLACE TO GO WHEN THE FAMILY VET LET'S YOU DOWN.I WILL USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN, IT'S ALL WE HAVE FOR OUR LITTLE FRIENDS WHEN FAMILY VET'S CAN"T BE COUNTED ON TO SHOW COMPASSION. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU AT PET ER.(BY THE WAY SHE DIED OF A COLD) DOCTORS AND VET'S HAVE TO GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THE CLOUDS AND BACK DOWN TO EARTH, BECOME REAL PEOPLE AGAIN IF THEY EXPECT TO HELP PEOPLE OR ANIMAL.SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED I AM SURE.
