Worst customer service I have yet to experience. Sold our house July 12,2018...last pick-up (to include can July13) and still CANNOT get our $66 refund. Contacted them almost a month prior to cancel service. arrange for can pick-up, and determine refund amount. It is the 5th of October and I have still not received my refund. Instead, I received a "past due" notice for payment in the mail. Contacted them over the phone speaking to 4 different ladies, one of which Identified herself as the office manager and heard every excuse imaginable as to why I have not received my refund from we haven't picked up the can...we refund on Fridays only...don't have your address(change of address on file at post office) to "its in the mail" If ANYONE has any ideas on how to get my refund back...please post

Someone in the review suggested the reason we get bad service is because we don't pay our bill..I think that is rude for someone to suggest that...They don't know us..We have been getting terrible service and promises to correct things,still have trash left,have the big Chesapeake waste can and a 48 gallon can on wheels..The small can is usually plastic,cans,light weight stuff and usually bagged...Last week took bags out,left one bag on ground,this week left can exactly where I put it and didn't empty....,Called,spoke to Joan who said she was the owner and apologized and assured me they would be by yesterday to empty can and would note account to empty to cans...Don't know if Joan was owner but felt little better(she acted like our business was important)until this morning when I pulled the full can back to the house...AND BY THE WAY,WE PAY OUR BILLS ON TIME...….Waiting for Joan or whoever to contact me...……...

DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!!! Very unhappy with service I received, after 15 months of service, in which we were consistently paid months in advance. We have experienced 3 issues in which they refused to pick up trash (leaves in bags - they stated the bags took up too much room, bagged Christmas trash - they stated they wouldn't take due to volume) and today AFTER the flood damage, we had parts of a broken down gazebo inside our trash can, and the guys didn't even attempt to lift the can, or empty it. I called to express my dissatisfaction not only in regards to remaining trash, but also with the lack of communication. Once I realized they were not willing to even apologize for the inconvenience, I asked to cancel my service and refund my money, management informed me it is against policy to refund money, and that I could discontinue service but they would not release any funds even for the services that they wouldn't be providing. They suggested I cancel after January. Their competitors are 6$ more, I will happily pay the minimal difference considering the unhelpful service I received from Chesapeake Waste. I have read SEVERAL other reviews stating the same type of instances dealing with this company. What a shame!

They really need to step up their game as far as modern technology. Website to pay bill and text messaging and or email for modification of trash pick-up during holidays. Or even an alternative pick that could be notified electronically.

for real what a joke!!!!!!!! poor service, no help and then once your paid they wont even issue a refund if you want to cancel your service they have no incentive to do the right thing. Now I know why I have a different service starting on 3/1/15! SAVE YOUR SELF MONEY AND TIME.

They don't deserve a single star, impossible to get any satisfaction when trying to talk with someone in charge regarding a problem that has occurred. Seems like a very poorly run business

Did extensive damage to my property in Sept, they never came to check the damage as they claimed they would nor have they paid for the replacement cost. Did not return for more pickups but did bill for the next month, that they did refund.

These drivers are DANGEROUS on the road! One of them almost ran me off the road today he was so intent on riding in my trunk trying to get me to speed up.... and I was doing 60 in a 50!! Then he swerved onto a dirt road called Corkell Road and roared down that road and it looked like he was back up to 60 in seconds! That road has a dangerous bend and is full of pot holes after the turn, I hope he didn't kill someone coming from the other direction.I thought they served Wicomico county what was he doing on a Saturday in Denton, Caroline County other than endangering the population. Think I'll make a call to the local cops and give them a heads up about this incident.

I want to thank Chesapeake waste. We recently moved and have had a TON of trash, well exceeding our limit, for the last 3 pickups. They have taken ALL of it each time. Thank you for making our move easier. ColleenCentreville, Md.

I have had amazing service and I am coming up on my year mark with the Chesapeake. Reading thru the reviews it seems people that don't pay their bills get cut off? I think that is an ok policy since the bill comes out 30 days early and then you get a reminder notice and a phone call. They are the only company I have ever been with that has does 3 different attempts to get people to pay their bill before they are put on cut off. Thanks Chesapeake keep up the great work.

they automatically renew your contract of course at a higher rate. what happened to it just expiring on it's own. companies that use this process hope you forget and you must send a letter that they will say they never received. costs money to send certified but you have no choice. good honest companies get you to renew by giving good service at a reasonable price, not using coercion to make you renew.

They lure you in with an attractive cost and then lock you in a year contact and raise their prices. Good luck trying to contact their office. Nobody answers their phone.

We wish Chesapeake waste would give us Seniors a break, with some discount. We do not even have enough trash to set out each week. So sometimes we do not even put the can out. Any little bit would be a help.

I've never had a problem with Chesapeake. But then again, I pay my bill. It seems to me the only people complaining are the ones who don't! Why don't you set up your card to be charged? Then you won't even have to think about it. The guys who pick up my trash do a great job. There have been times when I've not gotten the can out in time and they have just come up and gotten it. I make sure to leave them a little something for the holidays. Kindness never hurt, they are people too. My mother always told me that you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. I can also say that I've never had any problems with the office staff. They have been helpful every time I've called.

I have been a customer of Chesapeake For over 6 years. The guys on the truck are great, very professional as well as the Ladies in the office. I have recommended them to all my neighbors and friends and not one of them have a bad thing to say about chesapeake. I still and will continue to recommeded them.

We have had them for over six months. Yesterday, we came home, and discovered that they took our cans away from next to the garage and dumped them next to our garage. They said that we did not pay our bill. When we PROVED that the bill was paid through the year, they came back and dropped off the cans and left the garbage that they dumped next to the new cans.

My community in West Fenwick switched to Chesapeake Trash Service at the end of this summer. I was reluctant to switch since some of these reviews were negative. I must say I am glad I ignored the negative reviews. Chesapeake has the best prices in town, provided a new trash container and pick up the trash on the schedule day. Joan in their office is very helpful and professional. Perhaps some of the negative reviews are from retirees that have plenty of time to watch for the mail and trash pick up and get upset if their arrival is an hour off.

This company took over our previous company and we went from paying monthly to having to pay 3 months in advance. Also when they do not pick up due to a holiday instead of picking up the next day you have to wait a whole week. Except for of course today, our pickup is on mondays. Well yesterday was Memorial Day so I did'nt think anything of it when they did'nt show up. Well this morning being Tuesday my wife and I were having our coffee out front this morning around 7:30 when the trash truck came down the street. I ran out after the truck screaming to get his attention and he kept on going. I then tried calling the office to have the truck turned around. When I finally reached someone the woman was extremely rude with me. She even went as far as to lie to me saying they had picked up here yesterday at 6:15am or something like that. Well we get up at 5am every single day and they never came which was understandable being a holdiday. But why lie and be rude instead of turning the truck?

They forget to pick up my trash consistantly every three to four weeks. When you call to let them know, the receptionist says that they were there and we were checked off as having the trashed picked up. Cancelling my service. No customer service what so ever.
