Mission Statement: The mission of the OSSU Board is to provide leadership, coordination, and support to its member schools. The OSSU leadership role is to ensure that the K-12 curriculum delivers challenging, academically sound educational experiences to all students, to broaden the cultural perspectives of its students, and to extend life-long learning opportunities to all citizens. Coordination efforts focus on maximizing educational resources available to all schools, encouraging the professional development of all staff, and establishing responsible, consistent educational policy while respecting the individual character and culture of member schools. The OSSU provides the major support functions of special education administration and financial services, achieves economies of scale by managing support services such as transportation, accounting, and payroll, acts as a primary liaison with governmental agencies and educational organizations, and fulfills the legal responsibilities associated with the superintendency. Vision Statement: The schools of the Orange Southwest Supervisory Union will work collaboratively to provide an educational program which will enable all students to realize their individual potential and become contributing members of a constantly changing global society.
