      Columbia County Emergency Management is a department governed by Columbia County in Wisconsin. The department is responsible for preparing the county to respond at crisis situations through training, exercising and awareness programs. It writes emergency response plans, as well as assists individuals with their emergency plans. Columbia County Emergency Management also conducts and participates in various training programs for first responders. The department provides the Hazard Mitigation Plan to deal with natural disasters. Columbia County also operates accounting, child support, human resources, highway and transportation, and planning and zoning departments. The county s Columbia Health Care Center is a 120-plus-bed facility that maintains an Alzheimer s and dementia care unit.
