I am a chef and I recently had about the worst experience at a restaurant in my entire life! Our waiter at Lombardi's actually forewarned me and my son that the owners are very picky about who they serve! I thought it was a joke because the place looks like a run of the mill sandwich shop but the owners act as if you walked into a 5 Star, A-list clientele establishment. My order of Eggplant Parmesan was three 2 x 4 inch slices of what I am sure was Zucchini embedded in very thick, soggy breadcrumbs covered in bland sauce with no mozzarella or Parmesan cheese. When I asked for cheese and waiter told us "they don't use Parmesan." I asked for Hot Pepper and the waiter told us "There is a $1.50 charges for spices -each!" OMG! My side of spaghetti looked odd in that it was already pre-mixed with the sauce. Something I've never seen or heard of or seen in any restaurant I'd ever worked at. I had a funny feeling about it and talked to a friend of mine who is an attorney. He advised me to go back to the restaurant and while asking questions about reservations or anything else I could think of in a effort to wait for a table to be served with a side and take a photo of it. After having to go back twice I got to see a plate served with the spaghetti side dish and it was not pre-mixed. I froze and didn't know how to ask the woman if I could take a picture of her meal. I walked out feeling like a Zombie because I realized the owner's served me a side dish of spaghetti from other people's plates that was left behind. Every time I think about it I get sick to my stomach. It is without question the most disgusting thing that any restaurant owner or employee could possibly do to anyone. I advise everyone who would eat at any restaurant to send back to the kitchen anything that you may feel doesn't look right before you attempt to eat it. Your "gut feeling" should always be your best guide. As for Lombardi's in Port St. Lucie, Florida - Avoid it like the Ebola virus!

The best pizza in Port St. Luc...

The best pizza in Port St. Lucie. I know there isn't much to choose from in this town, but it's hands down the best. Everything was fresh and handmade. The place had an Italian feel to it, but it wasn't that cheesy overdone "fake Italian" stuff. I can't wait to eat my way through the menu. I only wish they had a bit better location. It's in a strip plaza and you have to drive past it a little an go back through the parking lot to get to it. The other business in the plaza aren't open the same hours as them so it looks abandoned at around 6pm. This is a hidden gem in this town. A great restaurant in Port St. Lucie is almost like seeing bigfoot.
