Covenant at South Hills

I have had my parents at the Covenant for over 5 years since it opened. We have experienced all 4 tiers of care; independent, Alzheimer's (Memory Unit) and Nursing (Healthcenter). If someone is truely independent without ANY memory issues the... (More) I have had my parents at the Covenant for over 5 years since it opened. We have experienced all 4 tiers of care; independent, Alzheimer's (Memory Unit) and Nursing (Healthcenter). If someone is truely independent without ANY memory issues the independent living is pretty good although it lacks any treu athletic or swim facility. They give you a lifetime pass to the JCC to compensate but what elderly person wants to lug clothing, wet towels out unless it is 90 degrees? The food is Kosher therefore it is only fair and rather tasteless. The Independent staff is nice. However, once you get into any need for levels of care the facility attributes breakdown. They will constantly tell you they are above medicare limits in defense of the lack of personal attention or managment oversight of the staff. You end up praying you get a certain person on a certain shift becasue you know they will look out for your parent. The staff is over worked, annoyed when you ask for help or questions.  (Hide)
