Used to be a good source for cheap cutoffs. As of 1/2015 they are closed and location is now just what Sunnyslop needs: another used tire shop....

Good service, prices and good metal. Bought a few sheets of aluminum and had them cut to order for my artwork while visiting AZ.Rich from Maui .

Every time (once a year) I call for some material, they are super over priced and they don't care if they are. I don't know who these people are that say their prices are great or even reasonable. They many other secondary steel suppliers in town with way better prices. Interstate charges double what the steel is really worth. If you are looking for steel, don't use Interstate unless it is your LAST RESORT. I do not know how they stay in business with this kind of business model. Who would buy regularly from them? Every time I call I have to sit down for the "sticker shock" they give me when I ask for pricing. If anybody goes here, they are getting ripped off. I already vote with my dollar and .001 % goes here.

I've dealt with Interstate Steel for decades. Many reviews FOCUS on how bad they were treated as customers. Mostly I've been treated with respect there. I've received the product I came for. I've seen a few a-hole employees come & go there, but short lived. Big deal. I came for steel, not to be sucked up-to. I worked as a Boilermaker until I retired, that many years takes some thick skin. Good customer service seems to be a lost art anywhere. That's life. I treat most people I meet with respect and they treat me with respect. The help at Interstate Steel has always been very good helping me with the steel I've came for. I have no complaints about their pricing of steel. With as many short tempers, fear-based attitudes people have today, etc, I'm impressed Interstate Steel treats customers as well as they do. In this economy such a small industrial business can't pay their help top-dollar. So you're not going to be sucked up to nearly as much as a company where sucking up-to is normal.

Ordered 50 ft. of 1' tubing and ended up with 1-16" pipe. When I tried to return the material for the 1" tubing he told me he had a no return policy even though he mad the mistake.

The worst steel supply shop around! Ordered 50' of 1" tubing and ended up with 50' of 1-1/16" pipe. Easy enough to fix right??? No, according to Interstate they dont have a return policy even though they made the mistake. Would not take back the steel even though I tried to buy the correct stuff. I will never order or do business with them again!!

I've been to Interstate Steel on several occasions for various metal needs including some gate hardware, sheet metal & rebar...they've always had what I needed and their product selection seems to be very complete. The staff has always been super helpful and accomodating. The prices are competitive and the Central Phoenix location is very convenient. It's important to support your local businesses and it's easy to do when they support the customer in return by offering convenience (they even deliver), good service and fair prices. Interstate Steel does all of these things very well.
