Goals -Promote the school as the center of the community by developing partnerships for shared responsibility with families, community, and business partners. -Provide a safe and positive learning environment in which all students are accepted, appreciated, and encouraged to reach their highest potential. -Prepare all students for success by recognizing and providing educational opportunities that address individual ability levels, learning styles, and diverse cultural backgrounds. -Provide staff development to enhance and expand effective educational practices and programs to increase student achievement. -Maintain accountability and stability through effective business and managerial practices. History The Alhambra School District was organized on August 6, 1888. Our first school was a one room brick building on Shady Lane, now known as 33rd Avenue, between Grand Avenue and Indian School Road. Today, the Alhambra Elementary School District is no longer a small school on the west side of Phoenix. We now serve over 14,500 students in preschool through eighth grades, and have 15 schools. We are proud of our history and strive to maintain our excellent educational traditions.
