The Pearland Police Department currently employs over 100 men and women, who are dedicated to the prevention of crime and disorder. Pearland Police personnel are assigned to one of three main divisions within the department, Police Administration, Operations, and Support Services. Each division within the Department functions interactively to achieve the common goals of the department. Each division of the department is allocated personnel based upon the needs and function of each division. The City of Pearland continues to grow at an unprecedented rate. The growth Pearland is experiencing has presented not only the police department but the city as a whole with a multitude of challenges and issues. Our ability to address these challenges and issues in a positive manner is a direct result of the continued support of the Mayor, City Council, and city administration. Through their support we have been able to maintain our practice of hiring the most qualified personnel, to fill open positions created to match the pace of Pearland's growth. We have also been able to maintain our, home fleet program as well as a host of other measures and programs implemented by the department to provide the citizens with the highest level of professional police service possible. While we are diligently researching and implementing new programs in order to keep the pace with the growth of the city, we remain committed to community oriented policing. This strategy provides us with the ability to preserve the hometown atmosphere through partnerships with our citizens, businesses, and other governmental agencies while still aggressively combating crime. The citizens of Pearland expect and deserve a police department that they can trust and depend on to enhance and protect their quality of life through the delivery of courteous, professional police services. We will continue to strive to exceed the expectations of our citizens and ensure that Pearland is a safe environment to live, work and grow.
