We have maps of the trails and can make reccomendations of which areas would suit your experiance level. Our extesive inventory makes it easy for you to have any problem fixed or find that item that you forgot to bring. If you contact us before you arrive, we can help you plan your trip and refer you to resources in the area to make your trip planning easier.

General Info

I started my first bike shop Garner's Pro Bicycle Shop in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1972. I moved to Oakhurst in 2000 to raise my children in the mountain community and to live a more relaxed life style. The atmosphere and attitude of the people here is a step back from the busy city life and the clean mountain air is crisp and refreshing. Our customers from other areas tell us that we have a better selection of bikes, parts and accessories than the larger shops that they have visited in the big cities. They like the quick turn around and while you wait capabilities of our very qualified service center. Our non rushed pace allows us to spend more time with our customers to better determine their needs and make sure that they leave our store with exactly what fits their needs best. We are the only full service bicycle shop in the 1000 square mile area around Yosemite National Park and know the area quite well. We can help you customize your vacation to make sure that you do not miss any of the wonderful sites and experiances that this area has to offer. We have bike rides on weekday mornings and weekends that you can join if you would like. There are many kid friendly roads and trails that we can direct you to so that the entire family has a fun time. There are many other activities in the area including hiking, swimming, fishing, hunting, target shooting, golfing, horse back riding, narrow guage train rides etc. that can make this a very memorable place to visit.

We are at 41169 Pamela Way in Oakhurst, Ca. 15 miles south of Yosemite National Park From Fresno, just travel 45 miles north on hwy 41 and turn left on hwy 49. In three miles turn right on Pamela place. Pamela Way is the second street on the right

Amenities

Our shop is located on Hwy 41 just south of the entrance to Yosemite National Park and right next to Bass Lake. The roads are in very good condition for cycling and have very little traffic. The scenery and views are awesome and there is a wide variety of terrain. The 550 miles of mountain bike trails are spectaular with beginner to advanced single track. The elevation starts at 2200' in Oakhurst to 8900' at the top of Shuteye Peak. You can ride among the giant sequoia forests and down the granite slickrock trails similar to Utah. We have a shuttle truck that can take you and your equipment to the top of all the mountain trail heads. Our service department is very advanced and can handle almost any type of repair that comes through the door from carbon fiber road bikes to hydraulic disc brake mountain bikes. We also specialize in BMX bikes and service and there is are bike tracks here in town to test your skills. We have been building and maintaining the off road trails in our area and have maps to show you right where they are. We have descriptions and pictures of these trails on our website as well as videos on youtube. We have been helping China Peak Mountain Bike Park develope their trail system. We rent road, mountain and comfort bikes and have car racks so that you can take them anywhere to enjoy your vacation. We can also deliver bikes to your hotel and pick them up when you are done.

I am the first dealer to ever carry the Specialized Bicycle brand since 1974 and have the best selection and knowlege of the company of any bike shop owner you will ever meet. I built bicycle frames during the 1970's and 1980's and have been building custom wheels since 1972. I was the District Representitive for the United States Cycling Federation in 1976-1977 and held the first race that Greg Lemond ever raced. I started the Giro Di San Francisco and the San Francisco Gran Prix bicycle races and the Ca. State time trial championship course that is still in use today.
