I am pulling my daughter from this place and will never allow any of my other children to attend. The staff is friendly but over worked and severely outnumbered. Maybe this place deserved a star rating years ago when you see the good reviews but now they deserve to be shut down. As you can read in other posts the owner will state one thing and do something else or tell you the conversation never took place. If you have communication with the owner I would highly suggest you record the conversation as we do, or get it in writing. I was also threatened today by the owner with a Slander case and advised to stop posting about her facility. These are the tactics you can expect from the owner to silence the truth about the way she runs her facility. So please do not put your children in this situation.

My children have been attending this school for about 6 months. They have so much fun at school and they have both learned so much. They have structure there which is a big deal as they prepare for kindergarten. The teachers are very hands on and supportive of the children. I would recommend this school to anyone with small children.

I have to give one star, but this daycare is not a one star facility. I don't understand how they are still allowed to operate, but they are open. Management is only concerned with money and the teachers are low paid babysitters. The ratio of child per teacher is not in compliance with what the state would want. If you can find other daycares or childcare arrangements I would. This daycare is not worth the money or time. Your child won't learn anything anyway

Do not bring your children here. Management is aweful. She just wants your money. There is no curriculum. I'd call the teachers babysitters. Management will lie to you just to make you happy while taking your money.

I would not even give this school 1 star. BUt the site made me, to submit this review. This by far is the worse day care in oak harbor. I removed my child only after a few weeks. The teachers are pleasant enough, but too many kids for two teachers. The management tells you one thing and does another. All they want is your money. Paying nearly $700+ a month. NOT WORTH IT!!! LOOK ELSE WHERE!!

This is the worst daycare in Oak Harbor.. The teachers are nice, but management is shady. They don't want to communicate with parents when something happens like hand foot and mouth, or if your child is sick with a fever they will be hesitant to call the parents... All they want to do is gossip and talk trash on their employees and favor one or two specific employees. They use these employees to get all the dirt... The management is very immature and run the daycare poorly. I would give this place zero stars but I have to rate it.. So one star it is I guess.

To many children not enough supervision. Picked up almost 2 ur old daughter who's diaper was full of feces (lose) had been in it long enough to really irratate her bottom. She had red bumps and was very uncomfortable. I also sat in parking lot and just watched a little boy tried to push a little girl down and she screamed I heard her nobody else did and one of the employees was just sitting on the grass talking to another adult. The boy then push the girl down and she started to cry still nothing. They are not real good at informing parents of illness's going on in the school and they need more help I'm seriously thinking about another school

This facility is poorly ran. The owner is very unorganized. There was a constant turn over with staff, which concerned me. Our teacher was actually very nice, but the morning/play ground attendants were changing everyday! Like the previous reviews have said, look at other options. We ended up moving, and were only there for a short period of time, but it seemed like each week, there was some sort of miscommunication and/or not returned calls. I own several businesses myself, and being professional, organized, and having effective communcation is key. These are 3 elements that are missing here. They also should clean up their discipline acts. There was several disruptive children in the class, and nothing was done about it. Explore your options!

I would not recommend this school. The lack of communication is what brings this place down. There would be a new teacher all the time. I would not have such a big issue, if the parents were notified about this, but we NEVER were. We would show up, and a new person would be there. This is not fair to the children. This school definitely lacks professionalism, and I am not sure that all the "teachers" are fit to be teaching anything. I would advise you look into other alternatives, we found much better childcare places out there with REAL teachers, and REAL academic plans!

I have recently been to several preschools in the last few months and decided on The Children's Academy. We have been taking our child here for a few months now and she loves coming to school everyday. The teachers are great with the kids and very friendly. My daughter has learned a lot just in the last few months from going to this preschool. I would highly recomend this preschool to anyone who is wanting a great foundation for their child before kindergarten.

I wouldn't recommend this center, don't get much for what you end up paying. My children spent most of there time playing with toys, not alot of interactive among the teacher and the children. The turn over of teacher was constant. My one child had 4 teacher in one year. And non of that was due to miltary moving them or even any one of them becoming pregant. One day the teacher was there and the next day the kido's would have a brand new teacher. One other area was there didn't seem to be much teaching of basic skills. Which at 2 and 4 that is the prim time to expose them to learning numbers and letters. Had posted a good action plan, but never saw the work come home or was able to walk into class and see it being taught. SHOP AROUND, it matter what you expose your kids to for any number of hours.

My infant is attending The Children's Academy 2 and we love it. The girls in this room are wonderful and love the babies so much. I feel very comfortable leaving my newborn at this center. When my husband and I went to look around at other daycares in town we didnt find any that were as clean or friendly like this one. I would encourage anyone to bring there child to this daycre.

This is a VERY good daycare/pre-preschool!! Our daughter is learning SOOOO much from it, and comes home everyday teaching daddy and mommy new things that she learned in school and tells us all about her good day in school with her teachers and friends! They sent her home with homework the other day, we were thrilled that they are starting to introduce them to a little bit of what actual school will be like to prepare them! They are teaching them sign language, Spanish, French, Japanese....this is the best daycare to keep your child's mind thinking and growing and bring out their smarts! Not to mention, for all the parents who receive state assistance (DSHS), the state will cover this daycare!! PERFECT!! The Children's Academy 2 is by far better than the 1st one. They don't teach all the languages, and give them homework at the 1st one like they do the 2nd one. The 2nd one is also bigger. Jan Alger runs both of them, and is absolutely amazing and will do just about anything to please you
