Our Story, Frederick Alvin Briggs, known to customers as Allie, opened Allie's in 1978. He learned first-hand about horses and livestock while growing up on a dairy farm in Rhode Island. The tack and feed shop was a return to his roots. Allie's wife, Lue (short for Lucille), ran the core of the business and generously shared with customers her knowledge, experience, and friendly smile. Their son, Steve, developed his practical knowledge of horses through his rodeo career. Horse care and riding evolved from a hobby to a passion, and today, he operates Allie's in the same spirit his parents brought to the business when they opened its doors over 30 years ago. We look forward to seeing you soon!
