Our primary function as a veterinary hospital is to provide medical and surgical care for your pets. However, we do offer boarding facilities to our clients. Pets left with us are cared for in the most modern facilities and are given the best possible care. The boarding area includes separate facilities for dogs and cats. The cats are boarded in separate kennels in an isolated feline boarding room. Larger cat condos and two room suites with resting shelves are also available. The dogs are boarded in indoor/outdoor exercise runs. The indoor rooms are heated and air conditioned to maintain a comfortable environment. The outdoor exercise runs are covered to keep the dogs safe from the weather. The highest level of cleanliness and sanitation is strictly maintained. The care of all animals is under the direct supervision of a veterinarian. All animals in boarding must be current on their annual vaccinations. For dogs, bordatella is required every six months in order to prevent kennel cough. Extra services, such as bathing, grooming, and individual play time, are available upon request. At Kruger Animal Hospital, we perform several different types of surgical procedures, including a variety of soft tissue, opthalmic, and orthopedic surgery services. Avian and exotic surgery is also performed routinely. Our veterinary staff maintain the highest standards and continues their education in order to give your pet the best care possible. Our surgical suite and techniques comply with the industry?s highest standards. We offer the safest anesthetics available including anesthetic gas designed for use in senior pets or high risk patients. Surgical patients are monitored by using pulse oximetry, EKG, and blood pressure measurements. "Bad Breath" is more than just a gentle reminder that it is time to consider dental care for your pet. Dental disease is painful and can lead to other serious health problems for your pet, including heart disease. Large amounts of bacteria can harbor in inflamed gums. These bacteria can then travel to other parts of the body and cause serious health problems. The liver, kidneys, and heart valves are common locations for bacterial colonization. Before your pet has dental procedures performed, your pet's individual gum disease is evaluated and x-rays are taken if necessary. During the dental procedure the teeth are scaled, polished, and treated with fluoride. You will be contacted regarding any additional treatments or procedures deemed necessary. Your pet will go home with a course of antibiotics to prevent infection, along with recommendations for home oral care. Other medications, such as pain control, may also be recommended by the veterinarian. At Kruger Animal Hospital, we offer a full "in-house" laboratory in order to complete many laboratory analyses within 30-minutes. This allows us to obtain results in a short period of time. We also use several laboratories in selected institutions to provide the most complete and accurate analyses for the needs of each individual case.
