Your careful management of the HHAs' services, and patience in enabling them to work in difficult circumstances, is also commendable. Select Care is the second agency that we needed to use. The difference with the aides was unbelievable. The aides and nurse were so much more caring, professional, skilled, and interested in my sister's getting more out of life than would have been possible without them. They were constantly in touch with me-so helpful as I did not live close. The first agency did not provide a visiting nurse. She is 90 and lives alone in manhattan. she broke her hip over 2 years ago and i began with selectcare after she was released from rehab. they are a very professional agency that provides very professional and dependable aides/care. Nurses come in to check on her often. selectcare works with me and my family in all emergency situations (we have had a few of those!) with tremendous tact and empathy. they even reached out to me when there was a tornado warning (in nyc!) and told me they were aware of the situation and had things under control. i couldn't be happier knowing my mother is so well taken care of! We wanted my mom, who has major mobility issues, to come to the wedding. It was going to be a weekend thing, with events spanning several days. Totally stressed, I spoke with Carla, explained the situation, and she told me that I didn't have to worry any longer; she would find someone I could count on so that my mom, my husband and i could enjoy this important milestone. Carla came through with flying colors. The home health aide sent for my mom was competent, reliable and had a lovely personality. She took initiative when necessary, and was a pleasure to have in our midst. I had total confidence in her. She accompanied Mom to various events happening at the hotel and off-site, including into and out of a hired car service at midnight after the reception (while my husband and I remained at the reception). The SelectCare agency provided help and support for my mother when she really needed it. The administrative staff was very thoughtful and immediately responsive, and the aides were kind and a great source of comfort to a stressed-out family.

We've hired SelectCare to provide aides for my mother for the last 9 months, I guess. The aides are great. The agency, and its staff are conscientious and caring. I recommend them highly.

Selectcare provides for a weekly visit by an RN for my mother. Karen is capable, compassionate and cheerful. She is in contact with the Drs. to coordinate care and has given me useful suggestions. I consider her a wonderful case manager.
